How to join
Rainy Network, also written RainyMC, is a Minecraft: Java Edition server. The server address is play.rainymc.net. You do not need mods or a special launcher.
Server address
- Address: play.rainymc.net
- Edition: Minecraft: Java Edition
- Versions: 1.21.11 through 26.3
- Mods: none required
- Gamemode: Clans, factions-style survival
Step by step
- Open Minecraft: Java Edition on version 1.21.11 or newer, up to 26.3.
- Select Multiplayer, then Add Server.
- Type play.rainymc.net in Server Address and set Server Resource Packs to Enabled.
- Select Done, then join the server from your list.
- Accept the server resource pack when asked.
Resource pack
The server sends its own resource pack when you join. It carries the custom menus, items, weapons and sounds. No client mods are involved. Without the pack, custom menus and items do not display correctly.
If you declined it, select the server in your list, choose Edit, set Server Resource Packs to Enabled and join again.
Your first minutes
- New players get a 30-minute PvP shield in the Clans world. While it is on you cannot deal or take damage. /pvpdisable ends it early.
- Form a clan of up to 5 players with /clan, then claim land. Claimed land is the only protection in the world.
- Every death burns your clan's Core. At zero your base becomes raidable.
- /keys holds your crate keys, /kits your kits, and /shop sells gear.
- Use /link to connect your Discord account and sync your rank.
The full rundown is in the Clans guide.
Clients and mods
The vanilla launcher is enough. Lunar Client, Badlion, OptiFine, Sodium and other performance mods are allowed, as are minimaps without radar and Replay Mod for recording. Hacked clients, autoclickers, macros and X-ray are not. The full list is in the rules.
Problems connecting
- Unknown host or can't resolve hostname: check the spelling of play.rainymc.net and leave the port empty.
- Outdated client or outdated server: switch to a version between 1.21.11 and 26.3 in your launcher.
- Menus or items look wrong: the resource pack did not load. Enable Server Resource Packs for the server and join again.
- The server does not respond: the network is in open beta. Restarts and maintenance are announced on our Discord.
- You are banned: the ban screen shows a short punishment ID. You have 48 hours to appeal through the form on our Discord; see the rules.
Questions
What is the Rainy Network server IP?
play.rainymc.net, on Minecraft: Java Edition 1.21.11 through 26.3.
Is RainyMC the same as Rainy Network?
Yes. Rainy Network is the name of the network. RainyMC, or Rainy MC, is the short name that comes from our address, rainymc.net.
Is Rainy Network a factions server?
Yes. Clans is our factions-style survival gamemode: clans, land claims, raids and KOTH. Instead of faction power every clan has a Core that burns with each death. Players who know HCF will recognise the Bard and Archer classes and the pearl and gapple timers.
What is the PvP like?
Classic 1.8-style combat on modern versions: no attack cooldown, real sword blocking and legacy ender pearls.
Is it free to play?
Yes. Joining and playing is free. The store sells ranks, crate keys and a subscription, and crate keys also drop in game during world events.
Where do I get help?
